Mr. Jackson and a friend landed 55 good fish of these varieties at the weekend near Surfers Paradise. Other good class whiting have been taken from near Meyers Ferry and from near the Bamboos. A Brisbane visitor, Mr. Stevens, spent a couple of profitable hours fishing at the Nerang bar the other day. He went home with 8 flathead ranging from 1lb 7 oz s to 81bs 2ozs. Another fisherman was seen with a 11½lb flathead landed near Jubilee Bridge. There are quite a few few about for the night angler and several have taken from the Broadwater between the Pier and the Bridge including one that tipped the scales at just under 60lbs. Twenty-six members of the Southport Amateur Fishing Club took part in the last competition of the season at the mouth of the Coomera River last week end when 162 fish were weighed in aggregating 931bs 10ozs
