Air Force loadmasters from the 81st Expeditionary Rescue Squadron (ERQS) prepare to release an autonomous profiling explorer (APEX) float from the back of an HC-130 Combat King Aug. 1, 2012, over the Gulf of Aden, off the East African coast. The APEX float collects oceanographic and meteorological data for the Navy's Naval Oceanographic Office. The 81st ERQS is deployed in support of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa. Tech. Sgt.
