Trolley trips through New England .. . Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod Canal, and Thereabouts. Summer Life on Buzzards Bay On to Onset! At the waiting station in New Bedford we boardan Onset car. And away we go, over the long low bridge, with a good view of the plucky little Fort Phoenix, and intothe elm-shaded streets of the happy village of Fairhaven (Tab-itha Inn). This pretty village is the beneficiary of many price-less gifts from the late Henry H. Rogers, who gave a highschool, good inn, good roads, memorial church, library and townhall. Leaving, the eye soon views the wide expanse of BuzzardsBay, an inland sea of palest blue. Far out, the Elizabeth Is-lands shimmer under the sun. We cross the Mattapoisett River, and come into red-roofed Mattapoisett, place of rest. Thegaiety of the summer life here centers in the pretty Casino, with its dances, tennis and golf matches. Great fishing here, and good canoeing up the river. -cdnts——Figures, leaving times past hour 95. MATTAPOISETT Beyond the pine woods is Marion, The Little Newport, where are the summer homes of many wealthy people from allover the country. They have repaid the village for its hos-pitality by some tine public buildings. Out in the harbor scoresof yachts ride at anchor. Tabor Academy is located here. Going toward Wareham, we begin to pass bogs of the famousCape Cod Cranberries that go so well with the Rhode Islandturkey. Wareham is noted for its old iron foundries. Herecomes in the line from Middleboro, connecting there for Taun-ton, Brockton and Boston. (See Table 59). Over NarrowsBridge we enter woods noted as the haunt of the trailing arbu-tus and in the spring the rendezvous of many mayflower parties. Now we come to our destination, the wharf at Onset {HotelOnset, $ a day), one of the beauty spots of the old BayState. The shore studded with dark pines, or the bay dottedwith isles of emerald green, are alike charming to the eye. Theharbor is always alive with pleasure craft. O
