1819 English press cutting concerning corruption during recent Parliamentary elections when constituents homes were pulled down for political advantage at Ilchester, Somerset. Sir William Manners (later Lord Huntingtower) maintained his position by demolishing the houses of his opponents driving them to the workhouse which meant they were not able to vote.
