ANDE-2 satellite release. Atmospheric Neutral Density Experiment 2 (ANDE-2) microsatellites (spheres) shortly after being released from Space Shuttle Endeavour during mission STS-127 (15th July 2009 to 31st July 2009). The cannister they were contained in is also seen. These satellites measured the density and composition of the low Earth orbit (LEO) atmosphere in order to allow better predictions of the movements of objects in orbit. Photographed on 30th July 2009.
