A Sanders Coasthopper liveried Wright bodied Volvo B7RLE waiting in the bus station at Cromer, Norfolk, UK
Cromer bus station is located between the sea front and the town centre at the junction of Prince of Wales Rd with Cadogan Road and was opened in 2011. Sanders Coaches is a family run firm which was started in 1975 by Norman and Gladys Sanders when they took over Bennett's Coaches of Holt after the owner decided to retire. The Volvo B7RLE is similar to its predecessor, the B10BLE. In essence the B7RLE is the front section of the B7L chassis mated with the rear section of the B7R chassis. Originally, the B7RLE featured the D7C 6-cylinder, diesel engine with a turbocharger and intercooler, producing 250 or 275 bhp and meeting the Euro III incentive emission standard. This was replaced by the Volvo D7E engine producing 290 bhp, to Euro III/Euro IV/Euro V incentive emission standards. Unlike the B7L, the B7RLE's engine is mounted at the center of the rear overhang as opposed to the nearside, resolving the issue of engine intrusion into the saloon. The Volvo B7RLE is also equipped with disc brakes and ABS The second generation Wright Eclipse, known as the Eclipse 2, was launched at the 2008 Euro Bus Expo as the successor to the Eclipse Urban, although the two designs were produced concurrently until 2011. The Eclipse 2 features front and rear ends facelifted to match the Wright StreetCar, and is now only available on Volvo B7RLE chassis.
