Floyd Blowers, of East Norwich, and William Waraksa, of Glen Cove, were elected to active membership. A fine display of sweet peas, with ex- ceptionally fine blooms and long stems, was on exhibition. There was good competition in each of the classes. James MacDonald, William McLeod and Sam Trepess were appointed to judge the exhibits. The awards, on twenty-five sprays of pink sweet peas, twenty-five sprays of white and twenty-five of any other color, were all won by William Noonan. The F. A. Bartlett special prize for the best six vases of sweet peas, fifteen of each, was also won by Mr. Noonan, William Milstead taking second. Upon request, Mr. Noonan gave a short talk on his method of growing sweet peas, which proved interesting and instructive. Ed Harris was elected secretary for the remainder of the year, Ernest West- lake having resigned at the last meet- ing. It was decided to hold the annual basket picnic August 6 at Appleby's grove. If it rains, the picnic will be postponed to the following dry day. An
