A little way south on thisroad is a rude stone slab inclosedby an iron railing It bears the in-scription: E. W., 1775, Col Eph-RAiM Williams, and is supposed tomark the place where Col. \\ illiamswas buried. The drive continued south passes FrenchMountain, with its ancient and once celebrated Half-.
