Buddha statues in cave temple, Dambulla, Sri city of Dambulla is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, 148 km north-east of Colombo. The city is home to the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this cave monastery contains five sanctuaries and Buddhist mural paintings covering an area of 2,100 square meters.
