A Swiss halberd in late 15th century style. The head formed with an oblique straight leading edge prolonged in a spike with reinforced point, bearing a spurious mark on one side, the lower half of the back formed as a tapering tubular socket, with a fin-like fluke at its apex and its base extending to form a pair of long straps, and of unusually great weight: on wooden haft. Head cm. Overall length 207 cm. A very closely comparable example is illustrated in an early study of circa 1865-70 of the hafted weapons in the Historisches Museum, Luz, Additional-Rights-Clearance-Info-Not-Available
