For the past ten years this Millet has been tested under almost all conditions at the Mass. Agl. Col- leg>e. We quote extracts from Prof. Brooks: "The Japanese Barnyard Millet is erect in growth, very leafy, stalks are tender and succulent, even when mature. Stools freely on good soil if not sown too thickly. Its greatest value is for green fodder or ensilage. It yields 35 tons per acre of green fodder. It is excellent for cows, producing more milk than corn fodder. It should be sown, to give best re- sults, the latter half of May, at the rate of 10 lbs. per acre.
