This shirt belonged to the Reverend Ebenezer Rogers when he was a child. He was born in Wales, immigrated to America in 1815 and first settled in Kentucky as a Baptist preacher. He then moved to Howard County Missouri, where he farmed, and preached, traveling within a 50 mile radius on horseback. In 1834 he settled in Upper Alton Illinois, continuing as a farmer and minister. He helped in the establishment of Shurtleff College. He died in 1855. Title: Shirt worn by the Rev.
