Thecaeoma stages have, however, been determined, for these forms, tooccur respectively upon Pinus, Larix, Chelidonium and Corydalis,and Mercurialis. For our purpose, it does not matter particularlywhether these forms are considered a group of closely relatedspecies, or merely well-established physiological forms of a singlevariable species. In Europe these are found chiefly upon PopuUistremtda and Poptihis alba. In the United States it would seemdifficult at the present time to name the hosts positively, althoughPopidus tremiiloides may be specially mentioned.
