There can be very little question as to Gisalberti notbeing an adept at the harmonizing of curves by propor-tion or direction; he seems to have been content toobtain his effect, upon his stiffer or straighter line abovethe upper corners, and below the lower ones. This peculiarity may be noticed, right through hiscareer; all of his instruments, so far as my knowledgeextends, having this strong mannerism.
