For 1893, when the spirit of American progress will be exemplified by the World's Columbian Exposition, we have earnestly endeavored to make Burpee's Farm Annual more , complete and better than ever before. A careful study of its one hundred rs and seventy-two pages will show that our efforts have not been in vain. It is generally admitted that we are always abreast of the times and hold a leading position in the vanguard of progressive development in the Seed Trade. There is no " short-cut to success ;''—the steady growth of our business is the result of untiring industry, with the determined purpose that BURPEE'S SEEDS should be recognized as the Standard of Excellence,—few equal, none better. In our endeavor to supply the Best Seeds at moderate prices, and to introduce only Distinct Novelties of real merit, we have been constantly encouraged by our Friends and Patrons, whose kind words of recommendation have helped so largely to extend the fame of BURPEE'S SEEDS,—until now they are annually supplied direct to many more planters than are the seeds of any other growers or dealers. While proud of the success of the business to which our capital and energies are so entirely devoted, we are mindful of the fact that "eternal vigilance is the price of safety," and are watchful of every detail, constantly strengthening each department, both in the growing and handling of seeds. In this work we enjoy the hearty co-operation of an able corps of efficient managers, with skilled assistants, both at the Warehouse and on the Farm.
