Camelot Crater on the moon, taken during the Apollo 17 mission. Apollo 17 landed on 11 December 1972 in the Taurus-Littrow region, to the east of the Sea of Serenity. The site was chosen for its expected geological diversity. Astronaut Eugene Cernan was accompanied by Astronaut and professional geologist Harrison Schmitt. During their 75 hour stay on the moon, Schmitt and Cernan made three excursions and collected 110kg of moon rock.
