In that paper Igave the outline and the approximate resultsthat are to be found in this little book; but inthe book I have given to the outline a pre-cision, and to the results an accuracy of statis-tics that I could not give in the original confining the examination to the singleplay of Othello, which I take as a fair exampleof Shaksperes mature manner, I have soughtto give for other work done at other times ofthe poets life, a secure basis of study andcomparison.
