Artist/engraver/cartographer: Homann/ Homann heirs. Johann Baptist Homann (20 March 1664 – 1 July 1724). Provenance: Published by the firm of Homann Erban in Nuremburg, probably in 1736 as dated in the lower margin, the map is based on the 1704 map by the French cartographer Jean-Baptiste Nolin (1657-1708), as attributed in the lower margin. Type: Copperplate engraved map with original colour and decorative title cartouche. Text in Latin and French. Relief displayed pictorially. A map of the Kingdom of Portugal divided into provinces, with the adjacent part of Spain including much of Andalusia. Many fortified and other towns and cities are marked on the map including Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra and Seville
