José Antonio Iraza and his wife, Carla Lizeth Gonzalez, from Tegucigalpa, Honduras are staying at the Casa Belen.

By entering Mexico illegally at the Guatemalan border, many Central Americans and other migrants from countries across the globe, begin their increasingly dangerous odyssey northward, through the country in search of work and a better life in the United States. Casa Belen, an immigrant way station in Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico provides food and shelter for migrants. José Antonio Iraza and his wife, Carla Lizeth Gonzalez, both industrial engineers from Tegucigalpa, Honduras are staying at the shelter after being kidnapped in the border town of Talisman, Chiapas, Mexico and held for ransom during 30 days. They both asked to be photographed without showing their faces for fear of reprisals from their kidnappers.
