A silver miniature chest, Hanau, circa 1880/90, The rectangular body with a hinged, domed lid, made of partially gilt silver. Movable carrying handles on each side, finely crafted fittings with hasps. Attached are two miniature padlocks that cannot be locked. Decorated on all sides with finely hammered scrolling bands. Gilt interior with a lidded inner drawer on the right-hand side. The base stamped with historicising hallmarks, the city mark "N" for Nuremberg and the master's mark "EH".
