AGAVE. The agaves have long been used wherever a trop- ical effect is desired, as they are among the most striking of scenic plants, not only for the immense size of some varieties, but for the striking colors and variegations of their leaves. Nearly all are valuable for their fiber, while some indeed produce the finest and most valuable fiber known. A. Americana. The Century Plant.
