The Ankers House, Church of St Mary and St Cuthbert, Chester le Street, England, UK

The anchorite lived within the building, the access being bricked up after their entry. However they were able to look out of the window shown and that provided light for their work. There was also a view into the main body of the church. Provisions were passed to the anchorite through a hatch.
