Vintage photo circa 1926 of Italian film actor and sex symbol Rudolph Valentino (centre of group) outside the Italian Embassy in Washington DC with Embassy staff. Valentino (1895 - 1926), dubbed the "Latin Lover", emigrated to the US in 1913 and became one of the most popular international stars of the 1920s. His films included "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" and "The Sheik" and his death at the age of just 31 caused mass hysteria among female fans.
