Empress Xiao He Rui (20 November 1776 - 23 January 1850), second Empress Consort of the Jiaqing Emperor. Handscroll painting, c. 1801-1820. Empress Xiaoherui was the second Empress Consort of the Jiaqing Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Hailing from the Manchu Bordered Yellow Banner Niohuru clan, Lady Niohuru became a secondary consort to Prince Yongyan (the future Jiaqing Emperor) in 1790. She became empress consort from 1801 until the emperor's death in 1902, subsequently which she was honoured as Empress Dowager Gongci by her stepson, the Daoguang Emperor.
