Grave of Vice Admiral Sir William Nathan Wrighte Hewett VC, K C B, K C S I Highland Road cemetery Southsea Portsmouth Hampshire UK. He gained the VC at Sebastopol in 1854 during the Crimean War. In front of advancing Russians he was in command of a gun emplacement and refused to retreat, by continuing to pour fire into the Russian column he stopped their advance.
