Staff Sgt. KC Zens, 372nd Training Squadron, Detachment 12 F-35 avionics instructor, prepares for his next class’ curriculum July 12, 2021, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. Zens teaches F-35A Lightning II aircraft avionics to technical school Airmen conveying how to maintain the fighter’s electronic systems. Zens, a transgender Airman, transitioned while serving in the Air Force and educates other Airmen about his journey. Diversity and inclusion is imperative for the Air Education and Training Command and strengthens the Air Force as a whole.
