DARDANELLE STRAIGHTS (Nov. 4, 2014) - Fire Controlman 3rd Class Ryan Cushing mans an M2 .50 machine gun as part of the small caliber attack team on the forecastle of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71) as she transits to the Black Sea. Ross, homeported in Rota, Spain, is conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of national security interest in Europe.
