Willington Dene Victorian iron railway bridge or viaduct as used by the Tyne and Wear Metro system, Newcastle north east England


Originally constructed as a timber viaduct in 1836 designed by John and Benjamin Green it was rebuilt in iron by Thomas Elliot Harrison in 1869. The bridge now carries the Tyne and Wear Metro. The viaduct spans Willington Dene between Wallsend and Howdon, a distance of around 320 m and using 7 spans.
