If the soil be dry, water frequently, and if the plants could have a heavy mulch of hay or straw, it would keep the soil moist, and the plants would not suffer from drought. The early kinds should be strong enough to plant out not later than the middle of April ; the late kinds may be planted out same time as for Cabbage. To destroy the Cauliflower-maggot, it is recommended, to take one ounce of sulphuret of potassium and dissolve it in one gallon of water. Heat the liquid to about 100 degrees, take a large spoon, or something that will hold the 100th part of a gallon, and pour the Jiquid against the stalk of the plant just above the ground.
