Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 –1892) and his wife Susannah in a portrait from 1860. Spurgeon was an English Particular Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of various denominations. He was, even at the age of 22, the most popular preacher of his day and is known as the "Prince of Preachers".
