The place where the first rough filtering of incoming sewage and rejection of untreatable items which have to be land filled.
The initial point of entry once the raw sewage has been lifted up to the screening house where plastic and other untreatable items are removed and sadly have to be land filled, the raw sewage is then moved on to various other processes in the treatment works resulting in a very clean clear water beung discharged into the Ogmore river nearby, viewed during an open day by Welsh water which was a very interesting guided tour and my thanks to them for a valuable insight to all aspects of sewage management.
