MICROTHYRIACEAE6 The Microthyriaceae of the islands of Hawaii are numerous and con- stitute an interesting part of the fungus flora, though heretofore none appears to have been authentically reported from the Territory. These fungi are in distribution practically like the meliolas—that is to say are limited to native plants and to the higher and wetter altitudes, and appear therefore to be historically of similar relation. So little is known 6 The section on Microthyriaceae was written by Ruth W. Ryan and F. Iy.
