Statue of Greyfriars Bobby. Greyfriars Bobby was a Skye Terrier who became famous in the 19th-century Edinburgh region for spending 14 years guarding the grave of his owner, John Gray (Auld Jock), until the dog himself died on 1872. The statue and lower fountain was erected in 1873 with funding from Lady Burdett-Coutts and is located at the southern end of the George IV Bridge in central Edinburgh.
