Investigating combustion of hydrogen. Image 2 of 3. Experiment to demonstrate the highly reactive nature of hydrogen in air. Balloon filled with hydrogen gas, being lit with a flame held underneath. As hydrogen is highly reactive, the addition of the heat from the flame will trigger a violent reaction with the oxygen in the air, causing a large fireball, see image C002/1060.
