The ocular sutures (OS) surround the bases of each of the com-pound eyes except in the anterior aspect of the head where a narrowband of sclerite, the ocular sclerite (OCS), is interposed betweenthem. parafrontal sutures (PFS) are present, one on each side ofthe frons.
