Tool for Refacing Emergency Valve Seats valve seat firmly in place. An adjusting screw C may beturned down by hand against a shoulder on the valve stemcarrying the cutting tool D. This cutting tool is double act-ing, so ground as to give the required shape to the valveseat. It is held in place by means of a square-headed setscrew as shown. This emergency valve seat refacing tool has been usedwith good results as it makes possible the refacing of valveseats that become worn or cut in service. In addition, oldstyle valve seats may be refaced, giving them the improvedsemi-circular section shown, which has been found to givebetter service.
