Madrid City Council has re-activated this January the protocol for high pollution by nitrogen dioxide (NO2) which, among other measures, means that the traffic on the M-30 and its accesses is restricted to 70 kilometers by time from six in the morning. In addition, speed is also limited to 70 kilometers per hour on the access roads inside the M-40 in both directions. Madrid City Council has re-activated this January the protocol for high pollution by nitrogen dioxide (NO2) which, among other measures, means that the traffic on the M-30 and its accesses is restricted to 70 kilometers by time from six in the morning. In addition, speed is also limited to 70 kilometers per hour on the access roads inside the M-40 in both directions. As reported by the Consistory, the protocol will be valid for the duration of the episode, so it recommends using public transport. It also indicates that citizens will be informed through the municipal website, traffic information panels and the DGT, CRTM / EMT, traffic office, Madrid Emergencies and social networks. The City Council of Madrid will announce this Tuesday before noon Wednesday measures. The protocol aims to improve the air quality of the city and, therefore, increase the protection of the health of citizens against the harmful effects of episodes of high pollution, and especially the most vulnerable groups such as children and girls, elderly people with respiratory problems, as well as pregnant women.
