Santa Fe, New Mexico's annual Indian Market is one of the summer's biggest events. It has been going on for 90 plus years. Held during the third weekend of August. Native Americans from and Canada come to sell their arts and crafts. It is the largest Native arts market in the world and the largest cultural event in the American southwest. Over a thousand Native artists from the and Canada sell their art and crafts. The Market brings some 150,000 visitors to Santa Fe from all over the world. One of the highlights of the week long series of events is the Fashion Show, also known as the Clothing Contest. Teens, adults and children show off their traditional, modern costumes.
