The non-pregnan1 human uterus is a pear-shaped organ about three inches long: with a broad flattened part above called the body and a narrow, more cylindrical pari below called the cer- vix. Within is a cavity which passes out in the Fallopian tube on each side above ami below opens into the vagina. The cavity narrows as it passes into the cervix at the internal os and continues downward to the cervical canal to terminate at the external os
