Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar & Ashura is the tenth day of the month of Muharram on which the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), during the battle of Karbala, is done. It is part of Mourning for Shia Muslims and a day of fasting for Sunni Muslims that is observed all over the World.
