The National Archive of Curacao is housed at Scharlooweg 77 in a historic building constructed between 1916 and 1918 as a private residence. When it was built, it was named "Bolo di Batrei" or "Wedding Cake" because it was given as a wedding present to the son of the property owner upon his marriage. It is listed on Curacao's Register of Protected Monuments. The Historic Area of Willemstad, Inner City and Harbour, Curaçao is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
