Acharya Swamishree visits Lake Windermere Inspirator: His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj

The Lakes at Windermere are considered a sacred site pilgrimage for the disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi: Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa held His final sabha on the hill at Lake Windermere, shortly before renouncing His human form from the Earth 30 years ago. In commemoration of our beloved Gurudev, His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree, the sant mandal and disciples from all over the world will visit the site in Bowness-on-Windermere on the banks of Lake Windermere on 18th August 2009 where a procession of peace will be held through the streets of the town. The procession will include a magnificent chariot, specially made by the sants, on which Gurudev Jeevanpran Swamibapa and Achayra Swamishree will give Their darshan, pipe bands from Bolton and London, dhol players, as well as ladies carrying hamayas. Acharya Swamishree will be welcomed by the Mayor of Windermere at Bowness Pier. This will be followed by a boat cruise on Lake Windermere which will recreate the aspects of Jeevanpran Swamibapa’s visit to Windermere in 1979. All on board will recite in a united voice a prayer of peace and sing kirtans that will reverberate and echo in the valleys of the land. There will also be a sabha on ‘Swamibapa Hill’ where a special exibition of images from the event 30 years ago will be displayed. This will be followed by a picnic where the general public will be invited to sample some authentic Indian vegetarian cuisine.
