CULTURE—Pepper should be started in hot-beds and transplanted to the open ground when the weather is real warm. They should be planted in warm, mellow soil, in rows eighteen inches apart. One ounce produces about 1,500 plants. LARGE SWEET SPANISH—(Bell shaped.) A very large sort, of square form, mild, thick and hard; suitable for filling with cabbage, etc., and for a mixed pickle; less pungent than most other sorts; notwithstanding its size it is one of the earliest varieties. Pkt. 5c4 oz. 25c, *4 lb. 75c. RUBY KING—Fruits are six to seven inches long by about four inches through, of a bright red color. LONG RED CAYENNE—Fruit brilliant coral red, conical, from two to three inches in length, from three-fourths to one inch in diameter.
