Style C, Outdoor principle Indoor I The Prairie State Style C Brooders are outdoor machines, constructed same general i as our Style D ndoor Brooders. They have a gable roof, and the lamp is enclosed in a case which protects it perfectly from the wind. It never blows out. The radiator is identical in principle with that of Style D. The lamp is a cold air flush lamp, a large cold air pipe enter- ing the case and carry- ing a current of cold air, which keeps the oil and burner cool, so that gas is never formed and the lamp throws off no fumes. This cold air \ pipe does not enter the â lamp case from the out- ; side, where it would be aftVeted by draughts, but draws its" air from the inside of the Brooder, thus keeping up a con- stant circulation of air. As the light enters from above, the chicks do not crowd and trample each other to death in an effort to get through tie glass, as they are certain to do when the light is in the side. This Brooder is on runners and may be easily moved from place to place. The roof and sides may be lifted off the floor (see illustration), so that the
