From both these stations Mykiss frywere carried on pack animals to stock a number of barren lakes in thehigher ranges surrounding Lake Tahoe. In the distribution fromTallac station, we were ably assisted by Prof. W. W. Price, of Price, and a class of young men from his school, spent a goodpart of their vacation in this most strenuous work, contributing theirservices for the good of the State. During the seining operations for spawn fish, a number of largeMackinaw trout were taken, showing that the plants of these highlydesirable fish have been successful. All that were captured in our netwere returned alive to the water, except one specimen sent to our office. The State property on which the Tahoe station is located should beproperly fenced, the buildings repaired and repainted, and other neces-sary improvements made.
