Abundant and widespread in the rocky grounds west of the Conejo grade, Ventura County. June, 1923. No. 3576, type. Collected by Robert Kessler. In general appearance this plant might easily be mistaken for E. umbel latum Torr., but it differs in the foliage, flowering habit and most markedly in the narrow lanceolate perianth segments. Those in E. umbellatum being conspicuously obovate.
