The rocks lie in asuccession of enormous terraces, apparently morevertical in form than those on the W. The streamsof the Mojib and Zerka Main issue forth from por-tals of dark-red sandstone of romantic beauty, theoverhanging sides of which no ray of sun ever are numerous; but except near the streamsthere is no vegetation.
