In the council room Lord Elginsigned the Rebellion Losses Bill, after the rebellion of 1837. Place Viger is situated on Craig street. It was namedafter Commander Viger, the first mayor of the city. Thechief French residential quarter lies to the north, up St. Denisand the neighboring streets.
