The Aciksaray (means "Open air palace") close to Gulsehir (means "Town of the roses") town, Nevsehir, Cappadocia, Turkey

The Aciksaray (means "Open air palace") close to Gulsehir (means "Town of the roses") town, Nevsehir, Cappadocia, Turkey. It is located a few kilometers outside Gulsehir, right by the road that goes to Nevsehir. Not much is known about this impressive place. Some researchers believe that it was a Byzantine army's camp, others believe it was a monastic complex, while others say it was an organized complex of inns. It's not even sure when it consturcted (better say "carved"), but it happened somewhere between the 6th and the 9th century.
