Tryngites, Cahanisf.—Bill abowt as long as the head, slender, straight, de-curved and obtuse at the tip ; nasal groove long ; nostrils basal, linear, ratherlarge. Wings pointed, the firat quill-feather the longest. Tail moderate, doublycmarginate. Legs moderate, slender, the tibia bare for a considerable distance ;tarsus compressed, slender, scutellate, anterior toes scutellate, mirginate ; hindtoe small, elevated ; claws small, arched, slender, slightly acute.
